Welcome to DedicatedEngineers! We are a charitable/educational non-profit dedicated to “making a difference,” both in terms of advancing the engineering profession, as well as in helping improve the world through the practice of engineering. In carrying out our mission, we seek to “inspire aspirations”: inspiring today's youth to aspire to become tomorrow's engineers. In doing so, we act as a clearinghouse for providing relevant information and resources of interest to the “K-12” audience, whether you are a student, parent, teacher, guidance counselor, or other interested person.

PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAM AREA:

DedicatedEngineers operates in three Program Areas - Pre-College, College and Professional Practice. Our Pre-College Program focuses on:

• Promoting engineering as a career to pre-college youth.

• Aiding pre-college students looking to pursue engineering studies and careers.
• Supporting integration of engineering concepts/curricula into K-12 education.

RELEVANT RESOURCES MADE AVAILABLE ON THIS WEBSITE:

All our compiled K-12 resources are presented on our Pre-College Resources webpage, based on various established categories. 

Students (and their parents) will find the following categories of particular interest:

• Pre-College Student-Focused Websites/Newsletters/Guides – A great place to start your journey!

• General Interest Websites – More general info on engineering, its accomplishments and practitioners!

• Introductory Summer Camps/Programs for Youth – Great “hands-on,” academic-oriented opportunities to explore what engineering is all about during the summer!

• National Competitions for Pre-College Youth – A variety of competitions, with something to match everyone’s interest – and great prizes to boot in many cases!

• College/University Engineering Programs – There are about 1500 accredited four-year colleges/universities nationally, but only about 350 offer engineering degrees – find out who they are and search by engineering major offered and/or by state/region, then go directly to their website for further info!

• Professional Societies – A good place to explore the different engineering disciplines and fields that employ engineers; the listing also includes women/minority-focused societies that can be a great help in your engineering journey!

For teachers and counselors, in addition to the above, the following categories will also be of particular interest:

At DedicatedEngineers, we seek to accentuate the positive, particularly through our extensive Awards and Recognition program. Check out our competitive Awards program for specific formal opportunities (such as our Public Awareness of Engineering Awards), but also let us know about organizations, programs, projects, general efforts and individuals that, while not fitting neatly into one of our formal Awards categories, you believe deserve wide public recognition through DedicatedEngineers – if we agree, we’ll make sure that they are appropriately recognized.
